Godolphin trainer John O'Shea has a strong team lined up for the big Autumn racing carnivals in Sydney and Melbourne in coming weeks.

Here are his selection of horses to follow in some of the big races, with his comment on each:

ASINARA
Bay filly 3yrs (Teofilo - Angalreem)
She won her first two starts in good style, showing a great turn-of-foot. She was beaten into fourth last time at Rosehill, but can win again. She is a good filly, and is scheduled to run next at Canberra.

ASTERN
Bay colt 2yrs (Medaglia d'Oro - Essaouira)
He has the perfect score so far of 2 wins from 2 starts, and has been earmarked as a major G1 Golden Slipper contender for some time now. He takes his next important step towards that target when running in the G2 Todman Stakes at Randwick on Saturday. He has continued to please me with the way he has been working at home.

BOW CREEK
Bay horse 5yrs (Shamardal - Beneventa)
We are now looking at the G1 Australian Cup for him following an exceptional effort to win Saturday's G2 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield. He doesn't help himself by missing the start, but there can be no doubting his ability. We plan to give him some barrier practice to get him a bit sharper at the start of his races. The G1 Doncaster Mile or the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes could follow after another run in Melbourne.

GHISONI
Brown filly 3yrs (Lonhro - Portillo)
She is a very talented filly, having won all three of her starts to date. She comfortably handled the step up in class to the G2 Surround Stakes at Randwick last Saturday and we are now faced with the options of going even higher up the ladder in the G1 Coolmore (in which she gets a very light weight) or staying in her own age group in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes.

HAURAKI
Bay gelding 4yrs (Reset - Youthful Presence)
I have really been taken by this fellow lately. He has been racing much better this preparation, with his solid third to Winx in Saturday's G1 Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick being an excellent run. He was second to Mongolian Khan in the Australian Derby last year and eight behind the same colt in the Caulfield Cup. He is aiming at the G1 Ranvet Stakes and the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

OLD NORTH
Bay colt 3 yrs (Lonhro - Bernicia)
He is a very progressive colt, who began his racing career in Victoria. He won his maiden at Randwick on January 1st, his most recent outing, and I hope he can keep on improving. He runs next at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and I expect him to run well.
