Belardo and Charming Thought were unveiled as Europe's top two-year-olds of 2014 at the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Ceremony in London, UK, on Tuesday, January 20.

They are first and second in the ratings for the European Two-Year-Old Classification and both colts won on Dubai Future Champions Day at Newmarket, UK, on October 17.

Belardo (Roger Varian) received a rating of 119 for his impressive two-length victory in the Group One Dubai Dewhurst Stakes over seven furlongs - a performance which means he takes the crown of European champion two-year-old of 2014.

Charming Thought (Charlie Appleby) gained a figure of 118 with a thrilling nose success in the Group One Vision.ae Middle Park Stakes over six furlongs.

Richard Pankhurst (John Gosden) ran to a mark of 116 when beating Toscanini (Michael Halford) decisively in the seven-furlong Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. Toscanini progressed to earn a rating of 113 for his second in the Group One Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes over the same distance at the Curragh, Ireland, in September.

Territories (Andre Fabre) was rated 114 after his unlucky second in the seven-furlong Group One Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp, France, in October, while Maftool (Saeed bin Suroor) was awarded a mark of 112 following a decisive win in the Group Three Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket the previous month.

Lucida (Jim Bolger) featured among Europe's leading two-year-old fillies with a rating of 111 after a good campaign that included a comfortable success in Newmarket's Group Two Shadwell Rockfel Stakes over seven furlongs in late September.
