G2 third for Pretty Mischievous in Golden Rod Stakes

Racenews

Pretty Mischievous acquitted herself well on her Graded debut when coming home third behind dominant winner Hoosier Philly in the G2 Golden Rod Stakes at Churchill Downs, USA, on Saturday, 26 November.

Stepping up in class and trip following a pair of wins at the same course for Brendan Walsh, Pretty Mischievous disputed fifth early on before moving up to third after a furlong and a half.

Hoosier Philly passed Pretty Mischievous halfway down the back straight and readily took charge rounding the home turn, with the Godolphin juvenile responding for Tyler Gaffalione to maintain fourth at the top of the straight.

Pretty Mischievous continued to stay on gamely and challenged for second entering the final half-furlong, missing out on the runner-up spot by a neck at the line.
