G2 second for Dream Castle

Dream Castle was caught close home in the 10-runner mile G2 Topkapi Trophy on turf at Veliefendi, Turkey, on Sunday, September 3.

The three-year-old colt, handled by Saeed bin Suroor and partnered by Gerald Mosse, was bumped emerging from the stalls by stable companion Carry On Deryck (Oisin Murphy).

He raced a bit keenly on the outside in fifth as a good pace was set by the leader.

Dream Castle, drifting right, came with a strong run to lead well over a furlong out and looked all over the winner before Wonnemond finished fast to gain the spoils close home by a length in 1m 35.28, with two lengths back to the third.

Saeed bin Suroor reported: “The jockey reported that the ground was too fast for Dream Castle, but he has still run well.

“We will find another race for him on easier ground.”
