Flow has the right Guineas credentials

Mike Hedge

An impressive last-start victory backed by a significant maiden win when previously in work has earned Flow a graduation to Stakes racing in the G3 Sunshine Coast Guineas at Caloundra, Queensland on Saturday.

Flow (Daren Beadman/Brad Pengelly) scored impressively at Kembla Grange when second-up earlier this month, the second win from seven starts for the gelded son of Street Cry.

“He’s come along well since that win and this looks like a nice race on a track that should suit him,” said trainer Darren Beadman.

“Last time in work he beat Egg Tart in a maiden, and she’s certainly franked the form.”

Egg Tart is unbeaten in six starts since that defeat and has proven herself one of Australia’s most promising gallopers winning the G1 Queensland Oaks at her latest appearance.

Godolphin’s Australian stable will also be represented at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday by Handfast (Darren Beadman/Robbie Fradd) in the Listed Glasshouse Handicap.
