Exulting set for rapid return in G3 Red Smith Stakes

Racenews

Exulting (Kiaran McLaughlin/Rajiv Maragh) could make a quick reappearance in the G3 Red Smith Stakes at Aqueduct, USA, on Saturday, 17 November, providing the contest is switched from turf to dirt.

The five-year-old son of Tapit gained a third win in four starts when taking the mile Artie Schiller Stakes, which was also taken off the turf, at the same course on 10 November.

Kiaran McLaughlin said: “Exulting has been entered Main Track Only for the Red Smith Stakes – we have had some rain in New York and a few meetings have been off the turf recently.

“He has come out of his win in the Artie Schiller Stakes great. This is a quick turnaround but it looks a good spot and the race distance will be dropped to nine furlongs from a mile and three furlongs if it is run on dirt.”
