Exhilarates back to winning form in Listed MSS Sprint at Flemington

Exhilarates burst back to winning form in Tuesday’s Listed MSS Security Sprint at Flemington with a victory that suggested major race success remains within her abilities.

The winner of the rich Magic Millions 2YO Classic in her juvenile year, Exhilarates returned as a three-year-old to win at G3 and Listed level.

The Flemington win is the fifth of her career and is the reward for some astute placement by the Godolphin team who had entered Exhilarates at Flemington last Saturday, only to withdraw on race morning.

The switch to Tuesday’s race produced a narrow but convincing win over The Astrologist with Sirius Suspect close up in third place.

On the same Flemington card, Lyre showed she was also close to a win with a close second in the G3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes.

The winner of the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes at two, Lyre ran bravely to finish a half-length behind Wild Vixen.
