Godolphin colt Emotionless is set to bypass traditional prep races at Newmarket and Newbury next month and head straight to the G1 Qipco 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket (UK) on April 30.

But John Ferguson, Godolphin's chief executive and racing manager, stressed that the son of Shamardal had recovered well from an operation for the removal of a bone chip and continued to make good progress.

"He's stronger than ever," Ferguson reported. "We have taken the view that he will not need a prep race before the Guineas. It's always a worry when horses have surgery but from the moment he came back into training, he has been moving like a bird" he added.

Emotionless impressively won his first two outings last season, including the G2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, but then finished last of seven runners in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket in October.

After the Dewhurst, he was found to have a chip in his knee and underwent surgery.

Charlie Appleby, the colt's trainer, said: "He's been training well, and I couldn't be happier with him. Physically, he's done well over the winter."

Meanwhile, Saeed bin Suroor flagged up Prize Money as a horse to follow from his yard in 2016. The son of Authorized won a maiden at Newmarket on October 21 on his only outing. "He will run at the Craven meeting, and we will decide plans after that. He has a future," the trainer said.
