Dubai Future seeks more staying glory in G1 Goodwood Cup

Dubai Future looks to reverse the Gold Cup form with Illinois and register a first G1 win at the age of nine in the Goodwood Cup at Goodwood, UK, on Tuesday, 29 July.
The duo drop down to two miles after finishing second and third behind Trawlerman in the marathon highlight of Royal Ascot, when Illinois came home seven lengths ahead of the Saeed bin Suroor-trained son of Dubawi.
Dubai Future makes a first Goodwood appearance having been rejuvenated as a stayer this season, with impressive Meydan victories in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy and G2 Dubai Gold Cup.
Saeed bin Suroor said: “Dubai Future worked well on Thursday and heads to Goodwood in good order. He ran a good race in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, but two miles suits him better, as he showed in the Dubai Gold Cup. He has done very well this year and I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on.”
Morris Dancer aims to take another step forward in the G2 Vintage Stakes on the same card. Trained by John & Thady Gosden, the Palace Pier colt was seventh on debut before providing his sire with a first winner when scoring at Haydock Park at the end of May.
