Dubai Future & Passion And Glory challenge for G1 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier

Two of Godolphin’s oldest horses in training bid to win one of Europe’s newest G1 races, as resurgent stayer Dubai Future and well-travelled stalwart Passion And Glory line up in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier at Longchamp, France, on Sunday, 25 May.
Both nine-year-olds are trained by Saeed bin Suroor, with Dubai Future looking to continue an unbeaten start to 2025 following decisive Meydan victories in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy and G2 Dubai Gold Cup.
Dubai Future missed the whole of 2024, but the son of Dubawi had shown a high level of form over shorter distances in his younger days, notably winning the Listed Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot and the G3 Bahrain International Trophy in 2022.
Passion And Glory finished second behind Dubai Future in Bahrain before returning to the same country the following year to comfortably win a Listed race.
Fourth on his latest appearance in the G2 Dubai Gold Cup, the son of Cape Cross won the G3 Glorious Stakes at Goodwood in July, 2021, and went on to finish third in a strong renewal of the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden in September of the same year.
Saeed bin Suroor said: “Dubai Future worked well earlier in the week and heads to France in good form, although we wouldn’t want the ground to turn soft at Longchamp. Staying races suit his style of running and he did very well out in Dubai over the winter. He is looking good and ready to get his European season started.
“Passion And Glory likes softer ground, so any rain wouldn’t be a problem for him. He has run well on his last couple of starts in Dubai and has been going nicely at home.”
