Time/Date - 17.40hrs local time/Saturday, August 13, 2016
Racecourse/Country - Del Mar/USA
Surface/Distance - Dirt/6f 110y

Drafted switches back to dirt for the G2 Best Pal Stakes over six and a half furlongs at Del Mar, USA, on Saturday, August 13.

The Eoin Harty-trained juvenile faded to finish down the field in the five-furlong Listed Windsor Castle Stakes on soft turf at Royal Ascot, UK, on June 14.

He had previously stormed to a decisive debut victory on dirt in an extended four-furlong maiden at Keeneland at the end of April.

Drafted, with Gary Stevens in the saddle, faces five other two-year-olds including Del Mar maiden winner Big League and Klimt, who took a Santa Anita maiden on his latest outing.

Eoin Harty reported: “Drafted is a tenacious horse and has handled all the travelling in his stride. He has been going nicely at Del Mar and is back on his preferred surface.

“Gary Stevens worked Drafted and said that the horse handled the track well and he liked what he sat on. We are up against a contentious bunch but we will see what happens.”
