A sharp drop in the weights is expected to compensate for the move to open company for Demonstrate (John O'Shea/Patrick Moloney) in the Listed Straight Six at Flemington, Australia, on Saturday, May 21.

After placing at each of his three runs this time in, all of them in three-year-old company, Demonstrate takes on older horses for the first time.

But trainer John O'Shea is satisfied the son of New Approach is equal to the task.

"At this stage of the season it's not such an issue and he'll enjoy a nice drop down to 54kg," O'Shea said.

Demonstrate also has the benefit of experience down the sometimes tricky Flemington straight track and has trained on nicely since his latest run when third in the G2 Euclase Stakes in Adelaide.

"He met some smart ones last time and still ran well from a wide gate," O'Shea said.

"From a nice draw in the middle of the line here he should be able to get a good run and have the chance to finish it off."
