Cumberland Lodge third achieved by Secret Number

Racenews

Secret Number ran well to finish third in the G3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes, having won the 12-furlong race in 2013, at Ascot, UK, on Saturday, October 7.

The seven-year-old son of Raven’s Pass, trained by Saeed bin Suroor and partnered by Gerald Mosse, broke smartly and raced a bit keenly in second of the nine runners as Danehill Kodiac set the pace.

Giving weight all round, Secret Number tried to challenge in the straight but look beaten before rallying inside the final furlong and kept on to be third.

Secret Number finished two lengths behind Danehill Kodiac, whose time on good to soft ground came to 2m 40.02s.

Saeed bin Suroor commented: “Secret Number has been doing good and ran well again today.

“There are no definite plans but he is likely to go to Dubai and race during the Dubai World Cup Carnival.”
