Busy Panstarr back for more at Gowran Park

Racenews

Panstarr makes a third appearance in the space of 13 days as she aims for a first G3 success in the Denny Cordell Lavarack Stakes over nine and a half furlongs at Gowran Park, Ireland, on Saturday, 22 September.

The tough and consistent four-year-old filly finished seventh on good ground in the 10-furlong G2 Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on 16 September, having gamely won the Listed Listowel Stakes over a furlong shorter on soft going at Listowel six days earlier.

Panstarr, trained by Jim Bolger and ridden by Kevin Manning, takes on 10 others including Broadway and Beautiful Morning, who were fifth and sixth respectively in the Blandford Stakes, plus Listowel Stakes second Ship Of Dreams.

Jimmy Hyland of Godolphin said: “The ground was a little too quick for Panstarr at the Curragh last weekend but she came out of the race well and softer conditions at Gowran Park should suit her much better.

“We are hoping that she can show the level of form she ran to at Listowel, which would make her very competitive.”
