Bright futures beckon for Arcaded & Prevalence

Racenews

With Dubai World Cup Night and the European Flat season on the horizon, talented juvenile Arcaded and unbeaten three-year-old Prevalence provided the highlights for Godolphin in a relatively quiet week on the international stage.

Arcaded had already established herself as a leading force among Australia’s two-year-old ranks and the Street Boss filly registered her third victory in four starts with a determined display in the G3 Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill.

The G2 Blue Diamond Prelude heroine could now bid for another major prize in the G2 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick next month.

More immediately, Anamoe and Ingratiating will seek to continue the fine season for Godolphin’s two-year-olds as they run in the world’s most valuable juvenile contest, the Golden Slipper, this Saturday – one of five G1 races on an action-packed card at Rosehill.

Prevalence added his name to an exciting list of Godolphin Triple Crown contenders in North America with a second straight win at Gulfstream Park, this time taking an allowance optional claimer with the minimum of fuss.

The Medaglia d’Oro colt is set to have his sights raised significantly for one of the upcoming Kentucky Derby prep-races as he looks to join Essential Quality and Proxy on the road to the first Saturday in May.

In France, G3-placed stayer Sublimis made a pleasing return to action when scoring by five lengths at Chantilly. Improving three-year-old Pimento also comfortably won at the same course, earning the Iffraaj colt a date in a trial for the Classics over the coming weeks.

The Dubai World Cup Carnival may have ended but Godolphin enjoyed another Thursday night success at Meydan as Desert Peace flew home in a dirt handicap.

Next year’s Carnival looks the long-term objective for the four-year-old, who was posting a third win in five career appearances.
