Barbed Heads Two-State Australian Contingent

A strong Godolphin team headed by the stakes winner Barbed (pictured) will be out to continue the stable's good recent form in Australia on Saturday, December 26.

Barbed (John O'Shea/Thomas Huet) will be attempting to repeat his victory in the same race 12 months ago when he runs in the Listed, 1200m Canterbury Classic at Randwick.

The son of Canny Lad is one of seven John O'Shea-trained Godolphin runners at Randwick with two more entered at Caulfield in Melbourne.

Also at Randwick is the two-year-old Demolition (Sam Clipperton), a half-brother to the stable's handy colt Shards, who runs in the non-graded 1200m Hyland Race Colours Plate which could prove a springboard to the major juvenile races later in the season.

Others from the Godolphin team engaged at Randwick are Stalwart (Jason Collett) in the non-graded, 1200m McGrath Estate Agents Handicap, Progressive (Brenton Avdulla) in the 1200m Cellarbrations Handicap and the last start city winner Medcaut (Blake Shinn) in the 1600m TAB Rewards December Handicap.

The Randwick contingent is completed by Grunderzeit (Sam Clipperton) in the 1000m Alan Thomas Handicap and Alegria (James Innes Jnr) in the 1400m More Than Just Winning Handicap.

In Melbourne, Godolphin will be represented by the O'Shea-trained pair Badajoz (Dylan Dunn) in the 1200m Frank O'Brien Handicap and Allergic (Patrick Moloney) in the 1800m Cape Grim Beef Handicap.
