The impressive European miler Bow Creek makes his Australian debut when he joins stablemate Malice in the G2 Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley on Saturday, October 24.

Bow Creek (John O'Shea/James McDonald) landed in the country a month ago and immediately impressed his new trainer. And the son of Shamardal has done nothing to alter those first thoughts.

"He's a lovely, strong, well put together horse who can clearly gallop," O'Shea said.

Bow Creek's abilities are reflected in a record that includes five wins in England and Ireland where he is a dual-G2 winner who has shown he can handle most surfaces.

In his most recent victory he had Gordon Lord Byron, winner of the 2014 G1 Ryder Stakes at Rosehill, behind him in third place.

The five-year-old galloped at Moonee Valley on Tuesday in preparation for Saturday's race, coming through the experience in good style.

"His work was satisfactory, he seemed to handle things well, and I'm looking forward to him getting into a race," O'Shea said.

"I think we'll make up our minds where he might be headed after he runs on Saturday."

Malice (John O'Shea/James Doyle) comes to Moonee Valley on the back of a respectable seventh in the G1 Epsom Handicap at Randwick earlier this month and a classy piece of work this week.

"I thought he worked brilliantly at Moonee Valley on Tuesday," O'Shea said.

"His run in the Epsom was excellent, he should get a good run here that will give him a good foundation for another run or two in Melbourne."

Malice is the winner of five races, including one at Listed level and has been placed twice in Group events, the most recent two starts back when second in the G3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle.

While Doyle will be making his Moonee Valley debut, he has ridden Malice previously in a trial and rode well in Sydney and Melbourne last Autumn, notching three placings at Flemington.
