Arc day placings for Inns Of Court and Dutch Connection

Racenews

Godolphin had a close second and third in the final G1 race on Arc day, the seven-furlong Prix de la Foret at Longchamp, France on Sunday, 7 October.

Four-year-old Invincible Spirit colt Inns Of Court (Andre Fabre/Mickael Barzalona) looked all over the winner when hitting the front inside the final furlong but was caught in the final stride, going down by a short-head to One Master who won in 1m 20.29s.

Dutch Connection (Charlie Hills/James Doyle) flew home late, getting within a head of Inns Of Court at the line. The six-year-old horse, who raced in mid-division on the inside of the 16 runners, had to switched off the rail to find a clear run and finished fast.

Godolphin’s Lisa-Jane Graffard said of Inns Of Court: “He has run a blinder and was beaten a head bob on the line.

“Inns Of Court looked fantastic and has run a very good race. There are no decisions today about where to go next – we will see how he comes out of the race.”

Charlie Hills explained: “Dutch Connection has run a cracker – this was one of his best performances.

“He is a credit to himself – the one regret we have is that he has not won a G1 race.

“James said he could have done with a better run.”
