Alms after another G3 win in Jimmy Durante Stakes

Unbeaten two-year-old filly Alms bids to provide Godolphin and trainer Michael Stidham with a second consecutive victory in the G3 Jimmy Durante Stakes at Del Mar, USA, on Saturday, 30 November.

The stable-companion of 2018 winner Elsa steps up to a mile for the first time following two impressive victories over six furlongs at Belmont Park, most recently when powering home to comfortably take the G3 Matron Stakes on Saturday, 5 October.

Alms is ridden by Paco Lopez for the first time and the daughter of City Zip features in a field of 14 that also includes G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf sixth Croughavouke.

Michael Stidham said: “Alms has been training great. She had a little virus going into the Breeders’ Cup, so we decided not to enter her for that, but she got over it quickly and has produced some good work recently.

“I think that she will handle the added distance well and she is a very talented filly, who we have liked from the beginning. She hasn’t done anything wrong so far and hopefully she can produce another good effort.”
