Nedawi didn't see a racecourse as a juvenile but made up for lost time in spectacular fashion, winning three of his four outings as a three-year-old, including the final Classic of the season, the Group 1 St Leger at Doncaster in September 1998; that followed a maiden victory and a shared success in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes; claimed his place in the Hall Of Fame courtesy of his strong staying performance at Doncaster in the autumn, Frankie Dettori's mount overcoming a troubled passage to wear down High And Low in the shadows of the post; performed creditably at four without success, his best run coming in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot behind his hugely impressive stable-companion Daylami; retired to stud in 2000
