Moonshell was only seen five times on the track but managed to finish third in the 1995 1000 Guineas, over an inadequate trip, on only her second run and followed that up with a classy performance to land the Group 1 Oaks at Epsom, beating Dance A Dream in convincing style; suffered a training setback and was not seen again that season and when returning to the course as a 4yo, she was not the same filly, being retired after two starts; tragically, she died of a haemorrhage after foaling in 2006
