Switched to Saeed bin Suroor after two runs in his 2yo season for Henry Cecil, he made an immediate impact for Godolphin when landing the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York in May 1995; he really came into his own once tackling staying distances and provided Frankie Dettori with the 1,000th domestic victory of a stellar riding career when impressively winning the Group 1 St Leger at Doncaster; produced the best performance of his career when defeating Double Trigger in the Grade 1 2m4f Gold Cup at Ascot (June 1996), also finishing second in the race the following year; his final win came in the Group 2 Prix Kergorlay at Deauville in August 2007
