GROOM responsibilities is to care for Thoroughbred wellness and appearance, as well as to maintain the barn and stall areas by performing the following duties:

·         Waters  animals, and measures, mixes and apportions feed, and feed supplements according to the feed instructions

·         Washes, brushes, trims, and curries animals’ coats to clean and improve their appearance

·         Inspects animals for disease, illness, and injury, and treats animals according to instructions

·         Cleans animals’ quarters and replenishes bedding

·         Exercises animals. Must be able to properly lead, turn out to fields, catch and handle horses

·         Unloads and stores feed and supplies

·         Washes stables

·         Clean saddles and bridles
