Komorebi runner-up in G3 Prix La Rochette

Komorebi added a G3 placing to his burgeoning profile as he chased home Nighttime in the Prix La Rochette at Longchamp, France, on Thursday, 11 September.

Chasing a third straight win, the Pinatubo colt jinked left and bumped into Kenzel exiting the stalls before settling in an early two-length second behind Nighttime.

Kenzel rushed up around the field to take up the running after the first quarter-mile, with Komorebi continuing to track Nighttime in third for Cristian Demuro.

Having attempted to stretch the four-runner field two furlongs out, Kenzel rallied in front until Nighttime moved up to lead entering the final furlong.

Komorebi stayed on to go second soon after and the Andre Fabre-trained juvenile eroded Nighttime’s advantage close home, with three-quarters of a length separating the duo at the line.
