Clear second for Dubai Future in G3 Neom Turf Cup

Racenews

Dubai Future produced another admirable effort on the international stage as he filled the runner-up spot in the G3 Neom Turf Cup at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, 25 February.

The son of Dubawi had finished fifth in the G3 Red Sea Turf Handicap on the same card 12 months ago and returned having posted significant wins for Saeed bin Suroor in the UK and Bahrain during a highly successful 2022.

After breaking smartly, Dubai Future soon raced in third on the inside rail behind Eagle’s Flight and Mostahdaf.

Danny Tudhope switched Dubai Future out at the top of the straight and the seven-year-old moved up to take second from the fading Eagle’s Flight just inside the final quarter-mile.

Mostahdaf powered away from the field in the straight to score by seven lengths, with Dubai Future seeing out the extended 10 furlongs well to come home nearly six lengths clear of Flying Visit in third.

Danny Tudhope said: “Dubai Future has run a blinder and I am very happy. I had a nice position inside the winner and, while he got away on us, we got second with a fair bit to spare. I have a nice record on this horse and he has run a fine race again for me today."
