Tempted continued her sensational autumn in Australia with another outstanding display at Randwick on Saturday, this time scorching to a commanding win in the G2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint.

Part of an outstanding group of Godolphin three-year-olds in Australia, the Street Boss filly got to within half a second of the six-furlong course record with an easy win over G1 winner Devil Night.

She is now unbeaten in three starts at Randwick since chasing home Ka Ying Rising in The Everest back in October, her only defeat in six appearances at the Sydney course, having also captured the G3 Eskimo Prince Stakes and G1 Surround Stakes. Another crack at The Everest beckons for Tempted, with potential targets ahead of Australia’s richest race to be determined.

Diameter was also successful at Randwick on Saturday, with the half-brother to Cylinder taking the Listed Fernhill Mile. Godolphin runners have won three of the last four editions of the two-year-old contest, and Diameter joins subsequent multiple G1 winners Tom Kitten and Broadsiding on the recent roll of honour.

I Need You went agonisingly close to placing in the G1 Oka Sho at Hanshin on Sunday, as she was pipped for third in the final strides of the race also known as the Japanese 1,000 Guineas. Five winners in Japan over the weekend included Stakes victories for Straight Talker and Double Joke alongside an impressive maiden win for Zero Visibility.

Godolphin’s European three-year-olds have already started to make their marks in Classic trials, with Komorebi confirming his place in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains with a brave win in the G3 Prix de Fontainebleau at Longchamp on Sunday.

My Highness looks set to take up one of her Classic entries in the coming weeks following her second in the G3 Prix Imprudence at Deauville on Tuesday, with a decision whether she tackles the 1,000 Guineas or Poule d’Essai des Pouliches to be made nearer the time.

More Classic clues will be provided this week by Newmarket’s Craven meeting and the Spring Trials meeting at Newbury, with a raft of royal blue contenders due to run at both fixtures.

North America’s reigning Horse of the Year Sovereignty will make his eagerly anticipated four-year-old return on Saturday in the G2 Oaklawn Handicap. The Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes hero has been off the course since a brilliant win in the Travers Stakes, although he faces stiff opposition this weekend in the shape of Journalism and White Abarrio.
