Poetic Charm in America for G3 Pin Oak Valley View

Three-year-old filly Poetic Charm races at Keeneland, USA, in search of a first Pattern success in the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes on turf over an extended mile on Friday, 19 October.

The daughter of Dubawi has travelled out after two excellent runs at a mile in France. She swooped for a head victory in the Listed Prix de la Cochere at Longchamp on 5 September following a staying-on second in the G3 Prix de Lieurey at Deauville on 15 August.

Poetic Charm, trained by Newmarket, UK-based Charlie Appleby and ridden by Mike Smith for the first time, races against 13 other three-year-old fillies headed by Chipolata and Mighty Scarlett, who were third and fifth respectively in the G1 Belmont Oaks, plus Saratoga G3 winner Daddy Is A Legend.

Charlie Appleby commented: “Poetic Charm has settled in well over at Keeneland and we feel that she should be very competitive on the back of her Listed win at Longchamp.

“She doesn’t appear to have the best of draws in stall 13, but ran well to finish fifth from a wide draw in the G3 Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood in August.

“We will see how she gets on here, but she will probably head out to Dubai afterwards for the fillies’ programme at Meydan.”
