Immersive finished second in Graded Stakes company for a second time this season as she chased home Splendora in the G2 Shawnee Stakes at Churchill Downs, USA, on Saturday, 30 May.

The 2024 Champion Two-Year-Old Filly, who was stepping back up to an extended mile after finding Grammy Girl a length and a half too good in Aqueduct’s G3 Distaff Stakes in April, was bumped leaving the stalls and soon disputed third on the outside of Miss Justify.

Last season’s G1 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint scorer Splendora raced in second before cruising up to head Gin Gin turning in, as Irad Ortiz produced the Brad Cox-trained Immersive three-wide at the top of the straight.

Immersive battled Majestic Oops for the runner-up spot as Splendora took command approaching the final furlong, with the Godolphin filly rallying gamely to grab second in the closing strides and go down by just under three lengths.
