Hen Party third in G3 Mamzelle Stakes

Hen Party added some useful G3 Black Type to her profile as she chased home Breeders’ Cup winner Cy Fair and Graded Stakes scorer Slay The Day in the Mamzelle Stakes at Churchill Downs, USA, on Thursday, 30 April.

Returning to turf after winning the Serena's Song Stakes at Turfway Park, the Eoin Harty-trained three-year-old broke on terms and was held up towards the rear of the nine runners by Flavien Prat.

Hen Party started to make good headway around runners entering the straight and stayed on strongly to take third entering the final furlong as Cy Fair and Slay The Day quickened away from the field.

Cy Fair asserted in the closing stages to deny Slay The Day by a length, with Hen Party finishing her race well to hit the line two and a quarter lengths behind the front two.
