G3 second for Bedouin’s Story in Darley Stakes

Racenews

Cambridgeshire Handicap hero Bedouin's Story ran another excellent race over nine furlongs at Newmarket when chasing home Mostahdaf in the G3 Darley Stakes on Saturday, 9 October.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained six-year-old was slowly into his stride and held up towards the rear of the 10 runners by Frankie Dettori.

Bedouin’s Story started to make good headway approaching the final furlong and ran on well to go second half a furlong from home. He closed on Mostahdaf all the way to the line, going down by a length and three-quarters.

Finest Sound took third, a length and a quarter behind Bedouin’s Story, with Barney Roy a further head back in fourth on his first appearance in over a year.

Saeed bin Suroor said: “Bedouin’s Story ran well again. We will keep the options open but might take him to Bahrain now.”
