G2 second for D’bai in Park Stakes

Racenews

D’bai filled the runner-up spot in the G2 Park Stakes for a second time as he chased home Glorious Journey at Doncaster, UK, on Saturday, 11 September.

The seven-year-old, who was beaten a neck in the 2018 renewal before going on to score twice at G2 level at the Dubai World Cup Carnival, was held up in last of the six runners by James Doyle.

D’bai quickened well between horses to go second over a furlong from home and kept on all the way to the line, going down by a length and a quarter in the seven-furlong contest.

His trainer Charlie Appleby said: “It was a very pleasing effort from D’bai, who has come on significantly for his run at Newbury last month. We might look at giving him one more start this season before hopefully heading back out to Dubai again for the Carnival.”
