Fortuna Diamond sparkles in Listed Prix Volterra

Progressive filly Fortuna Diamond maintained her unbeaten record with an impressive display in the Listed Prix Volterra at Longchamp, France, on Sunday, 7 June. 

The daughter of Night Of Thunder, stepping up in class for Henri-Alex Pantall on the back of two wins in the provinces, found cover between runners in fifth as Cap Santa Lucia led the 10 runners. 

Angled out by Tony Piccone over two furlongs out, Fortuna Diamond quickened well to reel in the long-time leader inside the final half-furlong before quickening away to score by a cosy length. 

Casapueblo continued his good start to 2026 as he went down by a short-neck to Nitoi in the G3 La Coupe on the same card. 

Winner of the Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte at the Paris course in April, the Andre Fabre-trained five-year-old tracked Nitoi, Sinileo and Tajlina in fourth before taking closer order on the outside of the leading trio approaching the final quarter-mile. 

Casapueblo initially appeared one-paced but rallied strongly under Alexis Pouchin, hitting the line full of running to grab second close home.
