Gainsborough Farm, Kentucky

Gainsborough Farm in Kentucky, USA, was purchased in 1984 by Sheikh Mohammed’s brother, Sheikh Maktoum. The farm grew over the next 20 years and currently sits on just over 1,500 acres. It is now home to a large number of Godolphin mares and foals.

Prior to its purchase in 1984, the farm was used for raising cattle and growing tobacco. Almost all of the farm was redeveloped over several years and has grown into the 1,500 acres you find today.

Champions and G1 winners foaled and raised here include Alpha, Emcee, Encke, Fantastic Light, Dream Ahead, Music Note, Flashing, Aesop’s Fables, Mystic Guide and Cody’s Wish.

Some of the well-known mares currently living at Gainsborough are Hall of Famer Ashado, five-time G1 winner Music Note, and G1 winners Round Pond, Flashing, Dance Card, Game Face, Balletto, Cocoa Beach, Dubai Escapade, Octave, and Panty Raid.
