Lammtarra wins the G1 Vodafone Derby Stakes

Lammtarra was the first colt to win the Group One Derby at Epsom on his seasonal reappearance and go on to further glory in the Group One King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot followed by the Group One Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.
Though he had only one race behind him before the Derby, Lammtarra won a shade comfortably. It was harder work at Ascot and Longchamp, since he was forced to dig deep to beat Pentire by a neck on the former course and had to battle back to regain the lead from Freedom Cry on the latter.
Lammtarra, who retired unbeaten, is currently taking a rest from stallion duties after returning to the United Kingdom from Japan.
